Summer Antenna Maintenance Completed

The summer antenna maintenance day finished up around 1pm today and was a great success. Thanks to several volunteers and club members, we were able to take down a mostly non-functional vertical antenna and put up in its place a 40m dipole pointed north-south. As well, some missing bits and pieces will be ordered for a another dipole antenna and a discone antenna to be installed in the fall. Stay tune for that antenna day announcement.

Thanks to the following people for coming out, braving the heat, and helping to get yet another functional antenna up on the roof!

Tim Miller, N9DKI

Steve Parker, WR9A

Jeremiah Dole, KB9MYM

Tak Ryuzoji, KC9AMT

Repeater Update

At the latest officer’s meeting, Tim reported that he completed work in Hawkins on the 6m and 220 repeaters. The PL board in the 220 repeater is malfunctioning and has been removed, bringing the repeater back on the air. Tim noticed some interference coming through on the 6m repeater and has re-enabled the PL tone.

The 440 repeater is still offline.

Officers Meeting Notes

After getting strange reports about the 440 repeater, Tim went to Hawkins to have a look. It appears the repeater will be off the air until at least July. More updates will be posted when we know more.

The AC in the shack is going now and the shack is still very habitable, despite the hot Indiana weather we’re experiencing. Currently reading 70 degrees fahrenheit.
